A few years ago, there was very little in the way of shopping in Punta Mita, Mexico. Over the years, as visitor numbers have grown, locals and ex pats have created an impressive retail offering that ranges from exclusive resort wear boutiques at five star hotels, to funky, eclectic stores in El Anclote and Sayulita, selling on-of-a-kind creations. It has been such a joy witnessing the local talent come to life in Punta Mita, with stores offering the most beautiful, hand made creations that embrace the Mexican love of color, vibrancy and individuality. You will certainly be returning home with some gorgeous, one off pieces that no one has ever seen before! There is certainly plenty on offer in Punta Mita itself. However, if you care to venture a little further afield, the shops and galleries in Sayulita are an absolute treat for fashion, jewelry, art, homewares and souvenirs.
The authentic beachside town of El Anclote buzzes with activity. Visitors lounge at waterfront bars, sipping cocktails as the sun sets. Local surfers run down the sand and launch into the waves, paddling out into the turquoise water. Families laze about on the beach, building sandcastles and enjoying the sunshine. El Anclote is also the perfect place to indulge in a little retail therapy! Head to Scarlett Boutique for unique dresses, swim wear, souvenir items and jewelry. If you are in search of upscale, luxury brands, Mar de Suenos stocks exquisite lingerie, swimwear, and resort clothing for men and women. Brands include La Perla, Eres, Vilebrequin, Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, Dolores Cortes and more!
